Licence renewals can be processed anytime during our regular business hours. It’s advisable to arrive prepared for a photo to be taken.
Special Requirements:
- Age 75 or Older: A medical report is required.
- Class 1, 2, and 4 Licences or Condition Code “C”: A medical report is also necessary.
ID Requirements for Expired Licences:
- Less than 6 Months Expired: You will need to provide a valid form of ID, such as a birth certificate, valid passport, National Defence card, or valid Secure Indian Status card.
- More than 6 Months Expired: In addition to a valid ID, proof of Alberta residency and Canadian residency is required.
Proof of Alberta Residency (Dated within the last 90 days):
- Lease agreement
- Mortgage documents
- Utility bill in your name
- Credit card bill
- Bank statement
- Phone bill
- Pay stub
- Official government mail
Proof of Canadian Residency:
- Canadian Birth Certificate
- Valid Canadian Passport
- Valid Secure Indian Status Card
- Citizenship/Permanent Resident Card
- Valid Work/Study/Visitor permit
Temporary Licence:
You will leave the office with a temporary licence valid for one month, and your permanent licence will be mailed to you within approximately 10 business days.

Fees – Vary depending on age, class of license, and medical conditions. Maximum 5 year term $93.00 (incl GST)
