To purchase a new plate, you will need the following documents:
- Your valid driver’s licence
- If you do not have an Alberta driver’s licence, you will also need proof of legal presence (e.g., Canadian Birth Certificate, valid Canadian Passport, valid Permanent Resident card, valid Work Permit, etc.)
- Bill of sale or lease agreement
- Proof of insurance
- NVIS (for brand new vehicles only)
