The term “personal property” includes assets such as cars, household and personal items, industrial or farming equipment, and aircraft. We provide facilities to search the Personal Property Registry to help avoid potential legal conflicts. Please note that all searches are for Alberta-registered liens only, and all information stored in the Alberta Personal Property Registry Electronic System (APPRES) is public.
Types of Lien Searches Available:
- Business Name Search:
This search will report all securities charged against the business name, including personal property liens. It is crucial to use the full legal name of the business.
- Individual Name Search:
This search will report all securities charged against an individual’s name, including personal property liens. It is essential to use the person’s full legal name. Providing the date of birth is helpful, though not required.
- Serial Number Search:
This search will report all securities charged against a specific piece of personal property. You must provide the serial number and a detailed description of the property.
